Sync function - own cloud / NAS

I read on the Discourse Group on the Internet that apparently many users have their own solution for saving data.

The reason for the monthly sync costs is, according to the information provided, the 24/7 availability and maintenance costs.

Would it then be possible to define your own sync folder on your own cloud (e.g. Microsoft, Google, your own NAS)?

Thanks for the question. Smart Logbook does support creating backup files, which contain your entire logbook and can be stored anywhere you like, including other cloud storage providers (Google Drive, OneDrive, DropBox, etc). This is suitable for backup / recovery or device transfer scenarios. You can find more details about that option here:

How can I back up and restore my logbook (e.g. on a new device) without a sync subscription?

The automatic, incremental sync functionality, however, only works with Smart Logbook’s custom built cloud service (and requires a sync subscription). The sync logic is non-trivial, as it needs to handle multi-device scenarios and extended offline use. It’s also highly optimized and very secure.
